Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
